Associate Professor, Associate Head of Engineering Product Development (EPD) Pillar & Provost's Chair Professor | Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)

Associate Professor Foong Shaohui is the Associate Head of Pillar of the Engineering Product Development (EPD) Pillar at SUTD. He also serves as the co-director of the Dyson-SUTD Innovation Studios, and was honoured with the appointment of the Provost’s Chair Professor. As the principal investigator of the Aerial Innovation Research (AIR) Laboratory at SUTD. Dr Foong has a deep passion in engineering education, he actively pursues pioneering research in unmanned systems and robotics, and harnesses them as powerful conduits for advanced STEM education through innovation.

Ms Liew Wei Li

Director-General of Education, Singapore | Ministry of Education (MOE)

Ms Liew Wei Li has been appointed Director-General of Education since April 2022, overseeing K-12 education in Singapore.

She had school experience as a Chemistry teacher and school leader, and has headed a division to develop school curriculum for primary, secondary and pre-university levels.

Previously, she was Deputy Director-General of Education (Schools) and concurrently Director of Schools for five years, where she led a team of zonal directors and cluster superintendents with oversight of some 350 mainstream schools.

In between her various professional postings, she chalked up policy, planning, financial management and organisational development experience in various Government ministries such as the then Ministry of the Environment and Ministry of Manpower.

Dawn Lim

Executive Director | DesignSingapore Council

An experienced business development and strategy leader, Dawn heads the national agency for design, DesignSingapore Council (Dsg), as its Executive Director.

Most recently, she helmed Singapore’s global leadership ambitions in Commercial & Professional Services at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). She has a proven track record of working across private and public sector partners to deliver major strategic initiatives and investments.

Prior to this, she headed EDB’s European team to advance Singapore’s business engagements with Fortune 500 companies across a wide range of industries, bringing in more than US $1 billion in investments annually.

Dawn firmly believes that design can make the world a better place. She intends for Dsg to play a critical role in infusing design into every aspect of our society and economy, and positioning Singapore as a global design hub.

Director | School of Design | Temasek Polytechnic

Having been in the design education space for the past 25 years, Elaine witnessed how the educational landscape in Singapore has transformed. Elaine firmly believes that we are at a defining moment where design is proving to be a game-changer force across various sectors including technology, business, finance, healthcare, and hospitality. As the Director of the School of Design at Temasek Polytechnic, Elaine is a strong advocate for enabling design sensibilities, design thinking mindset and design as a culture. Elaine actively bridges the gap between academia, industry, and the community, all while building design talent and leaders for the wider economy.
